Important: This is a conditioner, not a softener. The salt-free system changes how minerals behave so they cannot form scale, but it does not remove minerals from your water. The system also includes multi-stage filtration to reduce chlorine, disinfection byproducts, heavy metals, and other contaminants found throughout the East Valley water supply.
How it works
The salt-free conditioner uses template-assisted crystallization (TAC) media to convert dissolved calcium and magnesium into stable micro-crystals. These crystals cannot attach to pipe walls, fixtures, or appliance components, so scale simply does not form. The minerals remain in your water but behave differently.
The system also includes extensive multi-stage filtration, KDF bacteriostatic protection, activated carbon for chlorine and chemical reduction, pH balancing media, and quartz under-bedding for consistent flow. The Clack WS1 control valve manages the system automatically.
Because there is no salt and no chemical regeneration, the salt-free system is one of the most environmentally low-impact water treatment options available. A drain line is required for the periodic backwash cycle.
